The Archaeological Museum of the Battle of Gergovia welcomes you on the Gergovia Plateau, 15km from Clermont-Ferrand and close to the motorway network.
Access by the A75, exit 4, then follow the signs “Gergovie et sites arvernes” and “Plateau de Gergovie” (via La Roche-Blanche, Chanonat then Opme).
⚠️ For large vehicles (motorhome and caravan), the road passing through the village of Gergovie is prohibited. Choose the signposted route.
On the roads leading to the Gergovia plateau, please drive carefully, the roads are narrow.

All the information, texts and multimedia of the Gergovia museum’s permanent exhibition are available in French and English. Guided tours in English, German and Italian are also available, and are subject to the availability of our registered tour guides.
Pets
With the exception of service dogs, animals are not allowed inside the museum, even if they are small or carried in a bag. On the archaeological site, all animals must be kept on a leash.
Visiting the Gergovia natural and archaeological site
Gergovia is a 70-hectare plateau with stony paths and some steep slopes. If you wish to enjoy your visit to the site, it is preferable to wear good shoes.
